Did the Media Actually Read the Report before Filing their Stories?

The media and politicians have been justifying their push for “universal healthcare” reform  using data from a report conducted by the World Health Organization that supposedly ranks countries by the quality of their healthcare systems. However, if the reporters and politicians would have actually read the WHO report, would they have made their wild accusations of the US having a lesser health care system then Canada and Costa Rica? Dr. Richard Fessler takes a closer look at the methodology of the WHO report and details what he and others, like the CATO institute, have discovered about this interesting analysis.  For example, the ranking methodology utilized by WHO automatically penalizes the United States because we do not have a single payer health system. This has nothing to do with delivering quality healthcare. In fact, it is the political bias of the WHO researchers. In addition, a country who provides all of its citizens with the same, low standard of care will mathematically rank higher than the United States. This point is really misleading.
